PT-141, also scientifically known as bremelanotide, is a synthetic peptide used to treat sexual dysfunction. Unlike traditional medications like Viagra or Cialis, which physically target the vascular system to increase blood flow, PT-141 acts directly on the central nervous system to stimulate sexual desire and arousal at the root: the brain.

• Off-Label for Men: While the FDA has not officially labeled PT-141 for male erectile dysfunction (ED), it is frequently prescribed off-label by doctors for men, particularly those who do not respond to traditional PDE5 inhibitors (like Viagra) or whose ED is tied to psychological performance anxiety or low libido.

• Compounding Status: Following a highly publicized shifting of peptide regulations, PT-141 is available through legal compounding pharmacies under a valid physician's prescription.

Dosing & Side Effects

Vyleesi (bremelanotide) is designed to be injected into the abdomen or thigh at least 45 minutes before anticipated sexual activity. It should not be used more than once in a 24-hour period or more than eight times in a single month.
